A fabulous night was had by all at the recent Australia Singapore Business Association Queensland dinner at the Capri by Fraser on 11 August.
The Australia Singapore Business Association Queensland (ASBAQ) is a peak, non-profit business association involved with the promotion and facilitation of networking opportunities to help facilitate trade, investment and business relations between Australia and Singapore.
Over 80 guests joined the ASBAQ board and committee members to celebrate Singapore's 51st national day. Two excellent guest speakers, the Deputy Premier, the Hon. Jackie Trad, and the Shadow Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, John-Paul Langbroek headlined the dinner. Peter Russo MP, representing the Premier, rounded out a stellar guest list.
Additionally, a panel of experts from Trade Investment Queensland (Michelle Wade), Grant Thornton (Andrew Smith), the Brisbane City Council (Cr Krista Adams) and Federal Parliament (Trevor Evans MP) then provided all the guests with their insights around the importance of the relationship between Singapore and Australia. The panelists identified the opportunities for Australian businesses that exist currently but also discussed how prospects for Australian businesses are likely to expand over the next 20 years.
But it was not all serious, as fine food and wine was combined with superb prizes and other giveaways for the guests, including a return ticket to Singapore supplied by Singapore Airlines and a weekend drive of a luxurious Mercedes donated by Mercedes Toowong.
As the night wrapped up there were many happy faces to be seen from the departing guests.
